The Basics of Search Engine Optimization
Have you ever heard of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs? Psychology theory prioritizes the most fundamental human needs like air, water, and physical safety over more advanced needs like esteem and social belonging. The theory is that you can’t achieve conditions at the top without first ensuring that more fundamental needs met. Love doesn’t matter if you don’t have food.
Our founder, Rand Fishing, made a similar pyramid to explain how folks should go about SEO, and we’ve affectionately dubbed it “Mozlow’s hierarchy of SEO needs.”
Three main Subtype of SEO

Video SEO: To rank in YouTube or Google video results a mix of on-page, technical, and off-page strategies to get videos.
While all three subtypes require all three core SEO types, they vary in how heavily they depend on each core type.
